Til ke Laddu is a vegan recipe made with white sesame seeds, jaggery, peanuts, and a hint of coconut. 

Specially made for the festival called Makar Sankranti, it is known for its traditionalism and the words, “Til Gul Ghya Goad Goad Bola,” as we offer Tilgul on that auspicious day. 

Apart from this, Til Ke Laddu can be made daily, as the jaggery ingredient is beneficial for the health and so the mixture of other ingredients such as coconuts. 

We all are food enthusiasts and especially for food that is mouth-watering. The sweetness and varied taste of Til ke Laddu is what makes it a perfect sweetener for the mouth. 

As we all know, jaggery is beneficial to health, but there are varieties to it as it is used in different forms like Syrup, Powder, and the natural one.

Let’s take a look at what Ingredients we will need to make Til Ke Laddu 

*Ingredients 

Prep Time – 12 Minutes, Cook Time – 8 Minutes, Total Recipe Time – 20 Minutes 

Serves – 10 People 

  • ⅓ cup white sesame seeds or 50 grams
  • ¼ cup peanuts
  • ¼ cup coconut
  • ½ cup Goldmine Jaggery Powder or 100 grams
  • 3 tablespoon water
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom powder 
  • oil – r greasing the palms

Main Recipe 

Roasting the Ingredients 

  • Heat a Kadai or pan if you’re using one of them and add the above-mentioned sesame seeds in it. 
  • Make sure you’re letting the Kadai on low heat, or else the sesame can get burned. 
  • With the Kadai on low heat, you will be able to roast sesame seeds properly and stir them between breaks at your convenience. 
  • Due to being heated, the sesame seeds will pop up and change their colour which 
  • As the seeds are ready for one of the recipe parts, take them aside on a plate.
  • Just like the seeds, add peanuts and roast them on low heat, too, until they start looking crunchy. 
  • Please wait for the peanuts to get ready, take them aside on a plate, and add coconuts (cut). Wait for them to get cooled. 
  • Roast the coconut until it starts looking golden, keep stirring till then and once it is ready, turn off the heat and take the coconut aside. 
  • As the peanuts get cooled in the meantime, crush them in a grinder and then add the crushed peanuts into the sesame seeds and coconut. 
  • Add the cardamom powder for a stable mixture of all the ingredients and stir it well.

Making the Jaggery Syrup 

  • In the same pan or Kadai, take the powdered jaggery or grated jaggery and water.
  • In the same used Kadai, take the jaggery powder and turn it into a liquid syrup, putting the Kadai on low heat. 
  • As I mentioned initially, if you use Goldmine Jaggery Powder, your recipe will be healthier for your body. 
  • Stir the jaggery powder until it dissolves in the water, so you can use it as syrup, and then on low heat, simmer the jaggery and water to form a softball.
  • To check if the jaggery solution is into a softball stage, take some jaggery and mix it into the water.
  • As the water cools down the jaggery, remove the water and then check if the jaggery solution is sticky or not. 

Making Til Ke Laddu 

  • As you’re in the last stage of the recipe, turn off the heat and take the dry roasted mixture of coconuts, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, and cardamom powder.
  • Mix the above dry mixture into the jaggery solution. Now, if you have used the Goldmine Jaggery Powder, then the solution will get easily sticky.
  • Set aside your pan on the kitchen’s surface and if the mixture is hot, start forming the mixture in the shape of laddus. 
  • To make it easier, take some oil and spread it into your palms so while forming the shape, the mixture won’t slip away from your hands. 
  • After you’re done forming the laddus, keep them in a jar which must be airtight.
  • Your Til Ke Laddu is ready. Serve them as you want.

Til Ke Laddu has been one of the favourite recipes in India. It also serves as a traditional Maharashtrian Recipe and is well known because of Sankranti.
